Rumourmongering: Berbatov and Torres?
By: ed_ | November 5th, 2007From today’s BBC Gossip Column comes news that the Tottenham Hotspurs board is holding crisis talks regarding Dimitar Berbatov’s future at White Hart Lane.
If this is true, I’d pull out all the stops to get the big man to Anfield. I’m talking 10m pounds in cash plus Kuyt and/or Voronin plus Riise.
Berbatov and Torres would be a great partnership – strength, brains, guile, clinical finishing.
What say you?

He’ll cost more than Torres as he is proven in the Prem. And Ramos won’t want any of those players as they don’t fit the tactical system that he plays. Also there is a policy against anyone over 27, which isn’t smart, but that rules out Riise.
I’m pretty pessimistic about keeping him at the moment, but while Levy might run the club poorly; he does not run the finances that way. He’ll get 25-30 for him.
Just my two depressed cents.

i did not know about the under-27 policy…
If we were to offer Crouch (10m) plus kuyt (7m) plus 10m cash, that would be about 25m-30m for you. Even it was Riise (5m) or aurelio (5m) instead of kuyt, you’d be making your money and getting two very good players in return…

No way pedro. Berbatov is over rated. What has he done so far this year? He only played well for the last few months of the season last year. And he plays shite away from home. I wouldn’t pay £10mil

I think he would be an upgrade over anyone else we currently are trying to pair with Torres. The question is going to be a financial one–and I don’t think Liverpool are going to lay out the price that Tottenham will be asking for him.

Come on Spurs fans, 30 million for Berbatov? For a striker who hasn’t scored once against a ‘Top Four’ side? Don’t get me wrong, Berbatov is top class but 25-30 million is just wishful thinking.

Don’t want him…after all the negative press about him pouting and sulking, not the type of player I would want to root for.

We already have Mister “El Ninho” (Torres),so we dont need Berbatov,Torres can play alongside Babbel or Voronin who has proven so far that he can play with a lot of pace…Rafa HAS TO STAY…a Full Support 4 him
