A Picture Says a Thousand Words

With only 30 minutes before the Spain/Russia clash at Euro 2008, I thought it would only be fitting to post this glorious photo for you (I mean ME) to drool over courtesy of Lydnsey_LFC over at RAWK. Let it sink in for a moment… Now tell me that Villa and Torres weren’t made to play football at the same club! One can always dream, but I for one think that this is a match made in transfer speculation heaven. Here’s hoping The Kid and his future counterpart (*fingers crossed*) will make it happen tonight against Russia.

  Can I say that I’m not that excited by a Villa/Torres combination at Liverpool? I realize Villa has been great at Euro, but Torres has looked…not great. The 4-2-3-1 seems to really suit Torres, with the biggest weaknesses on the wings of the midfield. So far at Euro Torres has been the support man for Villa, and the service for him has been poor. I am of the opinion that we need strengthening on the wings (both middle and back), not up top. Villa is great, but I’m skeptical of Villa and Torres. Of course, his second year in the Premier League could be completely different, and could require another striker of Villa’s quality, but right now Gerrard slightly off Torres doesn’t need changing. If it happens, great, let’s roll the dice, if not, I lose no sleep.

  Silva indeed…not sure about Bentley though, I know he’s a talent, but is all the other stuff about him true (i.e. being a diva)?
