What is that? Is that a light off in the distance?

By: Jim | November 16th, 2006

I’ve been woeful with this blog of late, but it’s been a dispiriting few days here. The Premiership season, started with such hope, has little left in it for Liverpool. Tough to admit in November, but I can’t see any other appraisal.

However, Sam in Canada cheered me up a bit with his comment following the destruction at Arsenal.

This is the kind of year where they pull off a miracle run in Europe, don’t you think? At least I hope so. I think Sam was mostly kidding, but I’m going to exaggerate things and run with it. Middling domestic performance followed by inspired European performances has a certain ring to it, no?

It seems so odd to write off an entire season after 2 and a half months of football.

I’d rather focus on what can be done now to make sure the away form is corrected ASAP. There’s no reason we should be losing, while playing as a dis-spirited and disjointed club.

(Funnily enough, as I type this, C. Ronaldo just had the miss of the season… I swear 87-88 minutes into the Sheffield United/Manc game).
