Video: The Liverpool Groove

By: Noel | January 23rd, 2011

So, pass and move football, it’s been a while since we’ve seen you. Thirty-one passes and a goal if you count Kuyt’s final, lucky, bobble to Torres as a pass. Thirty passes and a final lucky bobble for a goal if you don’t. And sure, it was against a largely beaten opponent, but with a little more confidence–the sort of confidence built through passing moves like this against any opponent at any time–this is the sort of possession play Liverpool can hope to use to break down even the most confident teams right from the start.

So maybe there’s a bit of football on elsewhere today for people to watch, but I don’t care. I’m just going to keep hitting replay on this clip and pretend everything is alright again with Liverpool, if only for a little while.

30 passes and a goal at the end of it outstanding when you consider the home game against wolves pepe reina touched the ball more than any other player on the pitch he actualy kicked the ball 30 times into the wolves half from his area this answers any debates about roy hodgson being manager of liverpool fc

31 passes. 10 players. I believe Martin Kelly was the only Liverpool player who was not involved in the build up. Good times.

It's amazing what can happen when the ball is kept on the ground.

Thank god it wasn't just me that saw this as a highlight of the performance... a return to pass and move... 31 passes! So simple, so brilliant... this is what Kenny brings, this is what has been missing. Just keeping the ball like that... it's what the great Liverpool sides were built on... Bring on Fulham on wednesday!

Well if you're a fan from the 80's then you've had 3 decades to work on your grammar. Good grief man, what you wrote is extremely hard to decipher.
