Only my second posting all the way from Cape Town. Had no reason to go to gym today thanks to Man U knocking us out of the cup. I usually kill two birds with one stone and watch football while cycling (makes it bearable). The link at www.27bslash6.com (home page)is very funny. it is as funny as anything I have ever read, listened to or watched, so much so I have had to stop for a while to wipe my eyes. You will forget about Torres wanting to leave, our postion on the log, climate change, the rpice of beer, petrol, drugs, etc. Very very funny.

Just discovered this guy last week. Funniest thing I've read. Still working through his archive but that last posting is outstanding. A few hours until England wakes up. I wonder what the next episode is in the Torres saga.

What about this new crap about getting cash and Anelka for him? I'm not seeing it as we need a proven striker, and one that is younger... Anelka at 31 won't fit in with FSG or Comolli's plans....

I hope this is a Wayne Rooney style sack of crap, but I feel like there is no one like Sir Alex around Liverpool to whip this kid into shape. Torres wouldn't move to real or barca because of their rivalries with atletico madrid, why would he have the audacity to move from Liverpool to Chelsea?

I have to keep telling myself that his transfer request was just a ploy to confuse other clubs and let Liverpool sneak into fourth place. Because yeah, my brain is actually rejecting this. It can't happen. He can't leave us.

I know it makes sense to say "if he doesn't want to play for us we should let him go and sign some world-class players," but I just can't. I'm too heartbroken to do anything other than wail about his armband and how it proved he was a Red...

Boys, I’ve been chewing on this Torres drama (and the tops of beer bottles) all day and get the distinct feeling LFC and its supporter might all have been royally played by the great Spaniard. It’s glaringly obvious that his stellar performance against Chelski at Anfield was all about trying to impress his prospective new employers and remind them about what they would soon be buying. How else to account for the scintillating effort that day, not seen before or since?

The kid's such a disappointment, Yann. I totally bought into the image of the guy as old-school-loyal. It's the timing that stinks the most. Absolutely THE worst moment. What is he thinking?? We can't even fucking bask in the glow of a new signing cos we're all asking ourselves if luis can replace the guy we've made a hero...and to fucking chelsea?! I'd still be gutted but would get it if it was barca or milan. This kinda undermines the amazing work Kenny has done but i'll tell you one thing.....in the immortal words of Withnail..."the fucker will rue the day"...and LFC will continue to rise. Right, he wants out?...Fine, squeeze EVERY penny out of whoever and move on.

I had a premonition. Torres submitted the transfer request because he wanted assurance that King Kenny would remain manager of LFC, because he is so goddamn badass. Tomorrow, Liverpool will release a statement that Kenny will remain as Liverpool manager on a 3 year contract. Torres will immediately issue a statement of apology to the media and we'll all put our posters back on the wall. Sounds great, right?

yeah i thought for sure that he put in his transfer request to put pressure on FSG to buy Suarez. but the timeline doesn't support that theory. but if you look at his tweets and what he is choosing to retweet, it does seem like there is a team-first logic in doing what he's doing. if it wasn't Suarez that he was trying to get FSG to commit on there must be something else that we don't know about yet... but now that so many idiots called him a traitor or this and that i don't see how he will ever be able to feel the same about the fans.. and vice versa. no matter what the scenario this was all handled entirely wrong from a PR perspective.
