Liverpool U19s Win Dallas Cup Super Group
By: CSD | March 27th, 2008
Well done young lads! If you haven’t heard of the Dallas Cup, it’s a tournament held in guess where? Dallas. It’s where clubs around the world send their young whipper snappers to so that they can have a chance at playing on a global level. You can find out more about it here.
The squad, captained by Stephen Darby, defeated Tigress from Mexico 3-0. Tom Hicks was on hand to present the trophy. In the picture, he’s the man on the far left who looks very out of place. Rafa Benitez was very pleased with the result and conveyed his approval to LiverpoolFC.tv.
“It’s a competition I won years ago. It’s a nice competition and it’s always nice to see the young players winning trophies.
“The priority is to produce players for the first-team in the future but, in the meantime, any silverware is positive.
“I’ve said a lot of times that the chief scout, Eduardo Macia, and all the other English and foreign scouts, are working really hard to find young players. We are signing really good players that are giving us something in the present and will also give us something in the future in the first team.”

Woodbridge(Ontario) lost 2 (Spurs and UNAM Pumas, both made semis) and beat some team from S.Africa.

Sorry, no really great stories. Competition was fierce … high quality footy, close game against Spurs, got blown out by PUMAS (back-up keeper was junk) and controlled SA opponent. U17 USNT had Landycakes and Beasley.
