LFC 1 – 0 Everton
By: CSD | March 30th, 2008And so the man crush on Fernando Torres continues to grow. I really thought this match was going to be high scoring after Torres came up with a brilliant shot only 7″ into the first half giving him his 28th club goal. Unfortunately or fortunately, depending on how you look at it, that would be the only goal for the rest of the game.
The Reds dominated the first half and had several opportunities on goal that were very close. Gerrard hit the post on one attempt and Babel nearly connected on a brilliant cross from Riise. Babel actually seemed timid in his play. He was taking too many touches before passing or shooting which gave time for the Toffees to line up their defenders. Everton came out with more force in the second half, but was unable to break the Reds’ defense.
Not terribly exciting to watch, but it was a win in an important game. You can’t complain too much about that. Hopefully, this will give the boys the spring they need in their step when facing Arsenal for part I of III. Upcoming schedule: Arsenal on Wednesday, 3 days later, play Arsenal, and then 3 days later, play Arsenal. After the next week, we should be really good at playing against Arsenal.

I thought Torres scored his 21st league goal today against Everton – don’t you mean 28 goals in TOTAL for the season otherwise he would be on par with Ronaldo?
I could be wrong, then again I dont support SCUMPOOL!!!

This was my first ever game that i watch in the premier league, and liverpool was a great choice when i was looking for a team that i could really get into. They played a great first half attacking like crazy and they only let up on the staunch defense like the last 10 minutes of the match, almost giving me a heart attack towards the end. I know that it is mathematically impossible to probably climb up but “el nino” is really coming up huge and Gerrard is a machine, did you see that almost goal off the left post?!?!?!?! he didnt even let the ball hit the ground! Great game Liverpool and best of luck to the three matches against arsenal in the coming week!

Scumpool–Zing! Nice win yesterday for the Reds, not the prettiest, but some breathing room heading into a difficult week.

I’m with Django – not a pretty win at all, but very decent. We made some good moves, and while it may not have been a flashy game at all, we also didn’t make many mistakes which is the most important thing to take away. I thought we looked especially good at the back. We’ll need them to step up big over the next week to get some good results.
Scumpool, eh? Good one…
