Great start for Liverpool. Too bad United was able to eek it out against Keano, but they’re still going to have a hard start, chasing all of the other three biggest teams, plus Man City and a handful of others. Liverpool could stay up there, I think, and make a good run at the title. I don’t know if they can last, depending on injuries of course, but right now, they look impressive.

Guyz i now see JP as the unsung hero, yday he had a great game, very great one but none seems to mention that,he had some diversity over the wings n’ shadowed Babel over the moment they were both in….

Guyz u shud like this,We seem to have the squad which perfoms the best that we forget/get it hard to say who was the man of the match….I would probably say Penant

    Brian,
Its just 4-5 matches. Its not 34-35 matches. I would still say Scousers had a good start. But you are yet to face a quality opposition. Out of 4 matches 2 were against good teams. Whereas Blues have played against the Reading, Portsmouth, Villa and Liverpool. And only one relegation zone team i.e. B.City.

But this year’s league is more open. Teams like Villa, Pompeys, Everton, Reading, Wigan and Man City are givng tough fight for top 4 teams. Would love to see how table looks in December. I’m sure atleast 3-4 different occupants would have occupied the 1st place by that time. And top 4 wont be top 4 only.

We’ve manhandled everyone we’ve played and no one has scored against us from the field. We beat Villa at Villa, which even if you dominate the match there you could still leave there with no points as Chelsea did yesterday. Speaking of Chelsea, they had zero shots on goal against us at Anfield. You shouldn’t be able to beat any Premiership side by six goals and it could have been worse.

Manhandling Sunderland and Derby is not difficult. Out of 4 matches u played 2 which are against relegation sides. One is against chelsea, and do I remind you we had (atleast) one shot on goal against you guys and Lamps scored too. Against A.Villa the FK in which you guys scored was sham. Ref mistaken over there. And you say you easily beat Villa?

And 6 goals against Derby who are worse than Championship team too. Im sure there visit to Stamford Bridge should be interesting. And Liverpool is yet to visit our fortress. Which you cant win.

I would love to see Liverpool loosing this league title by one point. Even if Spurs/W. Spammers/Manu/Gooners win it. I would luuvv to see Liverpool loose this title by 1 point (I’m iterating in the same tone as scouser Keegan had ranted about Fergie in season end of 96 when he has manager for Toons)

Yes, Liverpool handled Villa quite easily even if the score doesn’t reflect it. Their goal was off of PK from a fluke handball in the box from Carragher.

Ditto the Chelsea game — Liverpool handled that one, getting a class goal from Torres, only to have the refs bail out the Blues on an absolutely brutal call.

The competition hasn’t been great, no, but Liverpool has handled it exceptionally. I can’t think of a game this year where Liverpool hasn’t controlled the flow for a majority of the game.

Adam is clearly distraught over his side’s embarrassing loss to Villa and is desperately trying to make himself feel better by lashing at out the big boys stop the table.

And as for the “Fortess” you call the Bridge… Birmingham scored 2 goals there. Very scary fortress indeed!
