It’s Barcelona

By: Jim | December 15th, 2006

OK, that’s it. Let’s go. Liverpool ends up with the “nightmare” draw in the round of 16, but there’s no use complaining … or saying anything, really, about how it turned out.

Man U. v. Lille
Chelsea v. Porto
Arsenal v. PSV

Well, someone from England has to take down a giant. It might as well be Liverpool. More on this soon. I’ve been up for several hours after work here and I need to, literally, sleep on it before even trying to break this down in any way.

Barca it is. Let’s go Liverpool! Take out the reigning champions.

Well, you don’t win trophies beating Rochdale.

I think even more the sting is seeing who the other Brit teams drew. Lille, Porto, and PSV. Really?

It’s like when your fraternity buddies wants to get it with some real hot action, but somebody’s got to smother the grenade.

Way to take one for the team, Red.

    Liverpool,

You won’t walk alone through this one. All the Brits will be cheering you on.

Well, Nick, I guess I spoke a little too soon.

Of course, since I’m not a Brit myself (hence the Cajun in Cajun Nick) I guess I shouldn’t speak for them at all.

I would hope, however that all but the most obstinate British football fan would cheer full British success in the first knock-out round.

In the south, we’d call a Barca fan a (Bar)ca-rpetbagger.

    Just saying.

I’d say that Cham needs to work on his insults.

What a tie, though. This is what the Champions League is all about. Not ManU v fricking Lille, but storied clubs with wonderful players competing against each other.

Here’s hoping for 2 good games.
