Gillet and Hicks should sell the club. They have owned the club for less than three years if I remember correctly and are opting to sell already. That’s not a good sign of commitment or belief in one’s organization. I’m by no means a Liverpool fan, however, the way they’ve treated one of the best clubs in world and european football is a shame. Futhermore, I strongly believe that some of the poor form of the club can be attributed to poor ownership. Liverpool have beyond a doubt some of the most complete players in the form of Stevie and Torres, to name a few. Outside investors who don’t know anything about football usually see the financial benefits involved with the sport but never dig deep enough to understand the passion and beauty that all fans experience. In my opinion, if you don’t know shit about football or give a damn about the fans or the welfare of the club, outside of the money, don’t buy a damn team. Football is a business, I understand that, players have to get paid, renovations have to be made, other misc bills have to be covered, but it imperative that the identity of the club is retained.

i agree that it is time to unite behind someone, anyone. i think at this point hicks is the guy. DIC has made noises about getting rid of rafa and now that it’s become clear that gillett was behind the klinsman mess it seems hicks is the best way to ensure rafa stays at anfield. and sure, both he and gillett made asses of themselves for the last few months, but if he doesn’t realize what the club means to the supporters by now he’d have to be an idiot of monumental proportions. perhaps we should give him a chance and trust that he’s learned a little more about english football than he knew before. and he does seem committed as hell, perhaps that’s what we need; anyone else would have likely said “get me the hell out of here” by now

I’m not sure having Hicks at the helm in sole charge is the right direction for the club. The man has already shown that he’s economical with the truth (I’m being polite) and he has struggled to realise just how much Liverpool FC means to the club’s loyal fans. OK he came out and backed Rafa eventually but only after looking elsewhere for a manager. He would have a lot of bridge-building to do with the fans should he take full control.
