The Gerrard – Torres combo is maybe the world’s best argument for playing 4-5-1. Part of me thinks Liverpool are still just one right winger away from being unstoppable.

I’ve heard that Vidic has had a good year, but honestly I’ve only seen him play a couple of times outside the Liverpool matches…so those might not be the best frame of reference.

As well as he’s played, I think Vidic deserved the award. I wasn’t surprised when the players voted for Giggs (because footballers are idiots) but for the writers to overlook Vidic is ridiculous.

What’s even more ridiculous is when you hear that he had more votes than all the other candidates combined.
