Anfield Banter: Benitez ignores Mourinho, Torres cleared for tomorrow, & Hugs for Sir Alex

By: Brian | July 26th, 2007

* Jose Mourinho has already started the verbal fisticuffs, but Rafa, as usual, isn’t having it. He ignored any questions regarding the fabricated war of words and instead decided to focus on the matter at hand, the Barclays Asian Trophy final versus Portsmouth on Friday. Mourinho is so pathetic, doesn’t he have anything better to talk about?

* Fernando Torres and Ryan Babel both have international clearance to play tomorrow, though I’m not sure about Lucas Leiva, who apparently did travel with the team despite hearing that he is injured. Steven Gerrard is also expected to be recovered from his stomach ailment. That should give us enough firepower to overcome a surely fatigued bench.

* Finally, Sir Alex has expressed his undying love for LFC and wishes to send ‘that dude’ over with a big, shiny bow on his head. Oh, Robbie Fowler bless him.
