Alberto Aquilani *updated
By: CSD | August 5th, 2009Well that was quick. Liverpool has come to an agreement with Roma for the transfer of Aquilani whose fee is rumored to be around £20 million. This is of course provided that he passes a medical on Thursday that will take a good look at the surgery on his ankle. Hopefully, all goes well and he can start meshing with his new club. You’ve got big shoes to fill, kid. Get to work!
*UPDATE 8/7/09*
Aquilani has officially signed a 5-year contract after passing a medical.

I’ll take this move as a positive — for Chelsea, of course.

The fact that Rafa is desperate to replace is testament to how could Alonso was for Liverpool.
Alonso should have waited one year

You have an absolute gem here in Alberto.
If you manage to keep him healthy he’ll be simply magnificent. He is the signing of the season to come.
We Romanisti are nutters, but the boy is quality.

Aquilani is class. I’m a Roma supporter but Liverpool is the lone premiership team I don’t mind. Be warned Liverpool: He is fragile, and he is spoiled. But when he decides to show up, he is good. He is not Alonso, he is not De Rossi, but you got a solid Mid. I wouldn’t mind seeing him succeed at Anfield as I have actually come to like Riise, and certainly wouldn’t mind seeing someone challenge Man Utd, my most hated club besides Inter.
