personally, i like G&H as much as i like itchy testicles but i will say the following:

ownership sucks in almost all cases .. i remember reading, prior to G&H buying Liverpool, many cases AGAINST DIC buying the club for the exact same reasons that the fans want "the americans out now" .. leveraged borrowing, out to make a profit, don't care about the club / fans and putting us through credit hell ..
not that i'm DICs accountant or anything but they pretty much run in the same vein & mindset as G&H (although they'd probably enjoy a good curry rather than possum in oil) where they are out to make a retardedly large profit off of their investment and will do it by using the exact same tactics (the same ones that the Glazers used over at Man United) .. there were fears that they would buy us and dump us just as there are fears that G&H will do that now .. so the whole DIC being our saviour talk is absolute bull ..
someone mentioned Randy Lerner doing an excellent job over at Aston Villa .. he HAS done a great job being the mid-table owner who has little to no interest in progessing the club further .. all he has done is sit back and pick up a profit from an already well established club with a rather large fan base .. buying Villa is like investing in AT&T .. you know there going to be there and are going to turn you profit .. it might not be a ton but it's money in the bank ..

but then again, what do i know?

Gareth i agree with absolutely everything you just said and i'm afraid CSD i agree with very little of your post.

Match boycotts have been mentioned but i dont know one fan who could actually bear to go through with it. I for one know that there is no way i would abandon the team and leave the kop empty. I will attend every game i can get tickets to this season but will go there wearing one of my old LFC shirts! Buying the merchandise does not mean that i am not supporting the team, the players will still get paid and Torres et al will still see a sea of red when they look up to the stands. Its just that those shirts will be old or fake. Buying the merchandise means supporting the owners who are hurting our club! As i cannot bear to stop buying tickets, denying them my hard earned £35, along with chanting against them till i cant speak anymore, is the only way i can show that i want them out!

I too am sorry if the 'Yanks out' chants have hurt anyone from the US as i was not aware it was being interpreted in this way. These protests are specifically aimed at the owners and 'the Yanks' is what we refer to them as. I have no idea what you think it has to do with your political policies or why you think that we have some problem with foriegn support. We are a family and you cant pick who your family is, you care about them regardless of creed, colour or nationality. We would happily have owners from any country in the world and would treat them as well as we did when G+H took over but we will not accept people who lie and harm out club.

Hi CSD, i guess this was partly aimed at my comments, so i will try to respond.

First of all you are completely entitled to your opinion. I would hope that all fans dont just 'jump on the bandwagon', but actually take a look at what is going on and decide for themselves. But i am not writing negative things about the club, i am writing negative things about the owners. There is a BIG difference.

Secondly i think the only reason your post irked myself and others is that its a little close to the bone to suggest we give the club money to buy players in the current climate. Whatever your views the facts are that G&H are taking us for a ride. The whole 'leveraged buyout' phrase we keep hearing about just slaps us in the face.

Here is a quote from Hicks in a newspaper published the day before the Athens Champions League Final last year:

“When I was in the leverage buy-out business we bought Weetabix and we leveraged it up to make our return. You could say that anyone who was eating Weetabix was paying for our purchase of Weetabix. It was just business. It is the same for Liverpool.”

So as i was saying, we are already paying for players. The loans they took out last year (even though they promised that wouldnt happen) are being serviced by us, the fans. In this whole debacle have G&H actually put their hands in their own pockets even once? So i hope you can see at least why your post might have touched a nerve.

I just want to make something clear as well... the fans that support the SOS are definitely still supporting the team. There is going to be no boycotting of matches. We are all still there to support the 11 players on the pitch, the (now 7) subs on the bench, the rest of the squad and the manager and his staff. Boycotting of games has been mentioned but never acted on just for the reasons you said. Its about supporting the team.

I know you may feel that by boycotting the club shop and all official merchandise we are hurting the club by reducing revenue. This is ultimately true, but you mentioned a means to an end. Why should we line the pockets of G&H even more while they continue to lie to us and fleece us at every opportunity? They are already hurting the club much more than we are by not purchasing the latest kit. While Chelsea buy a new right back for £16m, We are looking at Degen on a free. Even the likes of Spurs are out in the market for Modric and Dos Santos et all. Where are we? Having to sell before we can buy. Thats where. What happened to "If Rafa wants Snoogy Doogy we'll go out and get him?".

Where is the new stadium we were promised? The spade was supposedly going into the ground 60 days after the takeover was completed. How long ago was that? They dont have the money for players that they promised, they dont have the money for a new stadium that they promised, and they are hammering debt onto our club. How many times are you willing to be lied to before you crack?

Im sorry, but for you to say "If you don’t want club issues made public, quit talking about them. Quit buying newspapers that print them." is quite unbelievable. Do you think if I dont buy the papers that the problem will disappear? It wont be public because ive not read it? Get your head out of the sand lad, Im well aware that the majority of UK papers are not exactly in love with Liverpool, and are most probably hamming it up and relishing all the infighting. But Hicks in particular is doing it to himself. Dont try and mouth the words to YNWA on tv when you dont know the words. Dont get interviewed by sky next to your comfy fire and with your LFC mug straight out of its box and tell us you are one of us. Dont publicly come out and demand Parry resigns and drag the clubs name through the mud.

The main problem is that they have no excuse. DIC have been waiting in the wings ready to save these to muppets from their embarrasment. But they wont sell until they have made enough profit. Maybe when the stadium plans are completed, because the price will rise with the planning permission etc, things will change. God i hope so.

Right im going on a bit now, but just to say that i hope that Americans dont take offence to the YANKS OUT songs, banners etc.etc. It honestly isnt personal. Its just easier to sing than GILLETT AND HICKS OUT! Its nothing to do with any anti-american feelings in the UK, only anti-G&H. Randy Learner is doing a fine job at Aston Villa and receives no stick at all. Not sure where you were trying to go with all that "Whether it’s our non-existent foreign policy, anti-war sentiment, or being bitter over trying to turn Boston Harbor into a huge cup of tea 240 years ago", but you are way off the mark. Its about making a stand against our club being taken to the cleaners.

Anyway, after this ill try not to talk about it anymore, and concentrate on your Kuyt and Torres posts ; )
