The Daily Diatribe: Kewell is back!, Villa wants Carson, Cisse wants a second chance, & Another excuse for Chelsea
By: Brian | April 30th, 2007
* Harry Kewell is on the bench for tonight’s reserve match against Everton at the Racecourse Ground. This is a great sign and suspect he’ll the get the call in the last match of the Premiership season against Charlton. I can’t wait to read how he fared if he gets on.
* Aston Villa has joined the list of teams interested in requiring Scott Carson. I’m pretty sure with the Slave leaving, Carson will be our back-up keeper next season.
* Djibril Cisse has voiced is desire to return to Anfield. I’m sure he’s a last resort as a fifth striker if we can’t get a couple of big names, but just reading his quotes from that article make me think how much we don’t want him. “I’d love to be back playing for Liverpool, but four other Premiership clubs have inquired about me.” Kewl.
* Finally, if we somehow beat Chelsea tomorrow and advance to the Champion’s League Final, they’ll have another excuse to whine about in the postgame press conferences. UEFA announced today that the ref for the match will be 42-year-old Spanish referee Manuel Enrique Mejuto González. If he seems familiar to Liverpool fans, it’s because he reffed the 2005 CL Final. I can already hear Mourwhino now.

Andy, Andy, Andy, you are a class act.
It’s true if we don’t win on Tuesday, which I’m not sure we will, than we are shit.
You make it really hard to cheer for your squad in other competitions, by the way.
Ciao.
