Interesting squad vs Crewe

Well, Rafa is certainly in the ‘experimental’ mode. Voronin gets his first match and starts up front with Crouchy. No big surprise there. Gerrard gets his first game back and will be accompanied by Spearing, El Zhar, and Lee Peltier in the middle. I’m curious to see who will start where. I suspect it’ll be El Zhar on the left, Peltier on the right, and Spearing in the middle with Stevie-G. While on the backline we’ll see Riise on the left, Hyypia and Miki Roque in the middle, and Finney on the right. Reina will start in goal.

In the second half, we look to bring in Kuyt and Lindfield up front, a pretty regular midfield with Pennant, Xabi, and Momo joined by Ray Putterill. I guess Paletta has not been sent out on loan yet and he will see some time in the 2nd, along with Agger, Carra, and Arbeloa. David Martin will be Pepe’s replacement.

The big surprise is no Besian Idrizaj. Maybe Rafa has already decided to keep him around. I’m sure he’ll be on the bench and won’t be surprised to see him. Also, where Kristian Nemeth and Andras Simon?
