It’s over! It’s all over! Thank sweet Jesus it’s over!

Does this sound familiar to anyone – Reina Finnan Hyypia Carragher Riise Gerrard Alonso Sissoko Garcia Crouch Kuyt? Because that’s the exact same 11 Rafa Benitez trotted out on Saturday. If they lose, will the popular consensus be that he should have rotated?

So of the 99 different lineups he has used, how many times has the one playing today been the starting lineup?

Bob, I wish I could look into the lineup choices. I know The Guardian listed the 44 different players used – and, boy, did that include some stinkers – but I’m not sure how often it’s been what was out there today. Seeing as how Kuyt was included, I can’t imagine it was more than once or twice.

Actually, I don’t remember Kuyt pairing with Crouch this year, other than in the last two matches. Kuyt missed a few games with injury, and before that he tried Kuyt with Bellamy a few times. I’ll try to get something up later with more about the striker pairings.

Also, no telecast for where I was in the U.S. today, but the e-season ticket commentary sounded like Gerrard ran wild in the attack. Apparently, most of the movement went through him.

They both started against Galatasaray and got time together at the end of both the Chelsea and United games.

Actually Jim, I saw the breakdown somewhere. I’ll try to find it and post it here.
