Liverpool’s Most Dangerous Man

By: CSD | Comments 1 Comment

Little Fernando turned 30 over the weekend. They grow up so fast. *sniff* That’s 30 goals, not 30 years. At this point the £26 million to bring him over is seems like a bargain. So you might think, “This is going to be another we all have man crushes on […]

Merseyside Derby!

By: CSD | Comments 4 Comments

It’s the most wonderful time of the year, when our neighbors, Everton, come to visit at Anfield. In the first meeting, LFC squeaked out a win at Goodison Park 1-2. You might remember the controversial switch when Rafa took out Steven Gerrard because he was playing with “too much passion.” Hopefully, Stevie […]

The Pressure is On

By: CSD | Comments 3 Comments

I have mixed feelings when it comes to Rafa. On one hand, he did get us to two Champions League finals in three years, on the other, he does silly things that keeps us at #4 (or worse) and gets us knocked out of the FA Cup.

Benitez: Nice Guys Finish Last?

By: ed | Comments 4 Comments

Over on the always excellent This is Anfield, Neale Graham has a really long, very thoughtful post on Benitez’s potential legacy, should he leave today.
Neale says that Benitez is a good manager who’s career is being undermined by two factors:
1. His love of rotation
2. He’s too nice a guy
Please take five minutes to check out […]

Xabi should have had a hat-trick

By: Brian | Comments 6 Comments

Did you expect me to be optimistic about our 6-0 thrashing of Derby County today? Okay, so I’m a little pleased. Okay, so I have a smile on my face right now that plastic surgery probably couldn’t take away. More so because I picked up Xabi and Torres on my Fantasy squads […]

The six biggest surprises so far as the transfer window closes

By: Brian | Comments 3 Comments

6. Crouch wasn’t sold
Okay, so this isn’t much of a surprise as Rafa has said again and again that Crouchy isn’t going anywhere. I guess this is more wishful thinking and hoping on my part more than anything else. Oh well, looks like ole lank stank is here to stay, at least until January.
5. […]

Liverpool vs Derby County: What will Rafa do?

By: Brian | Comments 5 Comments

Broken record alert: Stevie-G and Carra are out for this one. God I hope this means Gerrard sits out the England qualifying matches. Come on, Stevie, let Limp foot Lampard get some playing time. Moving on, I first expect to see all those who weren’t featured against Toulouse on Tuesday start, which […]

We’ve drawn FC Porto, Marseille, & Beşiktaş J.K. for the CL

By: Brian | Comments 12 Comments

Not a bad draw and I don’t foresee us having many problems advancing to tell you the truth. FC Porto worries me a little being a Portuguese side, but two teams advance from the group stage and Marseille and Beşiktaş J.K. just don’t have the talent nor depth to compete with us. […]

Liverpool 4, Toulouse 0

By: Brian | Comments 1 Comment

I’m not sure whether I should try to watch this match again, the final score almost says it all though it could have been worse for the French side. Toulouse sort of dug their own grave from the get-go by coming out with all guns blazing. That’s not how you’re going to beat […]

Liverpool 1, Toulouse 0: halftime thoughts

By: Brian | Comments 1 Comment

Wow, after the first leg, I don’t think anyone could have predicted such an entertaining first half. It hasn’t exactly been good football, but with both sides missing key players, that should be expected. The ebb and flow at times though, has been heart-stopping.
The most impressive aspect is how we’ve seemed to figure […]
