According to GolTV Latin America correspondent Martin Charquero, Uruguay's Olympic committee will announce on Tuesday that they have selected Luis Suarez as their flag-bearer for the opening ceremonies of the London Olympics. This will obviously be a great honour for the player, and as one of the country's most recognisable athletes it would seem entirely deserved, though one imagines speculation over possible political angles will be rampant in the London press given the events of last autumn.
