Laudrup: Liverpool Has Made No Allen Contact

New Swansea manager Michael Laudrup hasn't spoken to Joe Allen or the other Swans players participating in the London Olympics since taking over. He also, despite widespread rumours over the past week that Liverpool are closing in on the midfielder, says neither he nor the club has had any contact regarding the player: "I haven't spoken to Joe since taking over and we have not had any contact from Liverpool, but I am in contact with the chairman every day and we agree that if there will be an approach then we will have to talk to the player. But you always have to be one step ahead so we have to be prepared for everything—not only in this case, but with each position." So Swansea hasn't had any contact from Liverpool but it's important to have contingency plans for all your players just in case? Queue every shady transfer site and tabloid running "Laudrup Ready to Lose Allen to Liverpool" stories. For everyone else, though, it's a potential transfer that suddenly seems far less likely.
