Among the predictably high number of Spanish players in UEFA's official All-Tournament squad is the England captain, who was--along with Glen Johnson--one of the most consistent and effective players in Roy Hodgson's squad. He burned out in the quarterfinal loss to Italy, but his performance in the group stages alone merited some sort of recognition, and considering that UEFA named only two players that didn't reach a semifinal (Zlatan Ibrahimovic being the other), it's a nice honor for Gerrard. Now just keep the groin in a vacuum-sealed chamber for the next few weeks.
