Jonjo Shelvey signs new deal
Earlier today Liverpool sent a strong signal that they see 20-year-old midfielder Jonjo Shelvey as part of the club's future when they announced he'd put pen to paper on a new long-term deal. After moving to Liverpool in 2010 for a base fee of £1.7M, Shelvey has hovered in and around the first team as well as experiencing a highly successful spell on loan at Blackpool in the autumn of 2011 when he scored six goals in ten appearances for the Seasiders. In the season and a half he's spent at Liverpool, Shelvey has participated in 37 games across all competitions, scoring two goals and setting up two more.
