With his contract expiring at the end of the season and a history of injuries that made renewal at Liverpool unlikely, earlier this month Arurelio decided to return to Brazil to finish his career with Gremio. Today, while attempting to avoid a tackle during a light training session ahead of his planned debut on Sunday against Atletico Mineiro, Aurelio landed awkwardly, tearing his anterior cruciate ligament. He is expected to be out for six months.
