1) A striker. A legitimate one. I haven't given up on Borini, but what Luis has with him right now isn't fair. He deserves better. Argument's sake Liverpool can buy someone for 20-25 million (which is what a good striker will run with no champions league football to offer) and then sell Carroll in July for around 10-15 million. In the end in this scenario FSG aren't breaking the bank entirely and Rodgers gets the player he wants.
2) Left back. So Rodgers doesn't like Enrique. I like the Enrique of the beginning of 2011-12 but that's another story. Left back was already a hole in the lineup but now it's really a big one because we don't even have a "real" left back playing left back with Johnson there.
3) Midfielder. While the midfield position is pretty deep with Stevie, Allen, Lucas, Sahin, Shelvey Hendo, and Sahin at the moment I'd still like to see a quality midfielder added. Buying Sahin after the loan isn't a guarantee and getting a good midfielder wouldn't make Sahin a huge loss if Liverpool can't get him.
A few more thoughts:
Sell Downing for whatever you can get.
Don't sell Henderson. Not that I'm his biggest fan, I just don't understand why Rodgers doesn't like him. He tried to use him as a bargaining chip to get Dempsey which I still don't understand. He has pace, and seems like a BR kinda player. Am I missing something here? Maybe I'm just paranoid, but I just feel like Rodgers will again try to sell him in January. Hendo's improved this year and should at the very least see the year out.
Dear FSG, don't screw up this window like you did back in August. The future of this club depends on the next few windows and they are very important.
